• World Elder Abuse Awareness 2007:
  June 15, 2007 is 2nd Annual World Elder Abuse Awareness Day (WEAAD). In recognition of this important event, AARP International is hosting a two-week Online Ask the Expert Session. Rajul Mehta of outrEACH along with Naomi Karp of AARP responded to questions from June 1 through June 15, 2007.

• Participated in the Seminar on “The Next Steps to Path Breaking Strategies in the Global Fight against Sex Trafficking” organized by Shared Hope International (Mumbai, 2004).


• Presentation on Elder Abuse for the book “Trauma Intervention” launched at the Commission on Social Development at the UN (New York, 2004).


• Presentation on “Older Women and Abuse in India” during the Commission on the Status of Women at the UN (New York, 2004).


• Visual presentation at the “International Workshop on Preparing for Ageing Societies” on Portrayal of Ageing in Indian Cinema, sponsored by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health (New York, 2004).

• Presentations on Elder Abuse at the NGO Forum on Ageing/ Second World Assembly on Ageing (Madrid, 2002). The outcome of this conference was the Madrid Plan of Action on Ageing.
